Acts 20:17-27, Ps 68, John 17:1-11
A love affair
“I don’t want to end up simply having
visited this world,” says Mary Oliver.
Nor do I.
I want to be mindful of every
life-giving breath.
I want to sing at dawn with the
avian symphony.
I want to waft on the aroma of
fresh baking.
I want to be transported by the
perfume of roses.
I want to tread on sun-warmed
earth.
I want to see the divine in each
person I meet.
I want to respond with delight
to the call of God.
I want my life to be a love affair
with the divine.
