Embracing the Cross
The Cross is the symbol of our salvation. But it is more than that; it also symbolises the nature of our calling as followers of Christ “Take up your cross daily and follow me.” Our lives are to be sacrificial. We are called to be selfless, to live for the love of God and the love of humankind. We are called to die in order to find our true lives. Our journey is to be through “the narrow gate”, the Beatitudes are to be our personal “vision statement”. Jesus promised it would be good, but he didn’t promise it would be easy!
