Queenship of Mary

1 Thessalonians 1:1-5,8-10, Ps.149, Matthew 23:13-22

Taking our place

Today we honour Mary the Mother of Jesus and our mother also. Her unreserved ‘fiat’ to the angel’s telling her that she was to become the mother of God has earned Mary her place as Queen of Heaven. We too are invited to give birth to Jesus in our own lives. In this way we too earn our eternal reward. There is no room here for saying one thing and doing the other. Integrity and sincerity are to be our hallmarks.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee; blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
