Acts 11:1-18; Ps 42; John 10:11-18

Our first reading portrays a momentous point in the history of the Church: the revelation to admit gentiles. Peter’s first response is most telling. “Certainly not Lord.” Peter has been utterly faithful to the all-defining tradition handed down to him of Jewish separation from pagans. Now, however, the Holy Spirit leads Peter to see and act differently. In terms of the Church’s mission to the world today, what is the Holy Spirit asking of us/me?
