The Annunciation of the Lord

Isaiah 7: 10-14; Psalm 40; Hebrews 10: 4-10; Luke 1:26-38.

Today I rejoice with Mary, highly favoured by God, about to be offered by God a unique role in the history of the world. Would she become the mother of Jesus, the son of the Most High God? Mary’s answer follows her query about how this could be? “I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let what you (the angel) had said be done to me.” In the decisions that I make each day may I surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit in me. I open my heart to the Lord.
