Jonah 3: 1-10; Psalm 51;
Luke 11: 29-32.

When Jonah preached, they repented.

God forgave the sins of the citizens of Nineveh when they repented and did penance. God’s mercy was there for all to see. When I think of my own sins, the pain and problems they bring, I call on the Lord who created me, loves me and destines me for himself. I have nothing to fear when I turn to him with all my heart, when I desire to receive his mercy and forgiveness in the sacrament of Reconciliation. There he will draw me to himself, listen to me, and heal me.
